Garlits is legend. Garlits is chasing the 200mph quarter mile in an electric. I’ve commented a few times here and there how the next generation of hot rodders will be fiddling with electric motor windings and computer controls. Here they are, and they’re last generations guys stepping forward. They’re pretty much at 190mph so far.

Bill Dube invented Killacycle . The electric dragbike. This sucker sounds like ripping leather with a rocket when it leaves the line. It’s been around for a while but it’s still leading the way and impressive as all get out. 169mph record at the moment. This is getting good!

So, what are you doing in your garage?

I’m just trying to harbor an out of control mess.

I just wish I had time to spend in my garage. I’d love to convert my Vanagon to an electric runabout, it’s got lots of room for batteries under the floor & in back.

From what I’ve heard, they’re working on even more voodoo magic to break 200mph this year, can’t wait to see that happen.

I wish my dad were still around so that I could talk to him about this. Big Daddy Don has done so much for drag racing, and to see him, at his age, continuing to advance drag racing is amazing. Kick some ass, Big Daddy.

This is something I really do want to learn more about. I’ve done a little reading about some of the more basic things (e.g.: what’s needed to make an electric car), but designing something like my own charge controller? Definitely beyond me.
